JoeM's Muddiest Point

My muddiest point is probably the blood typing. I'm confused as to how each type is made such as Ia and Ib make AB. And is ii the only way you can have O as your blood type?

  1. first of all the capital I is something i completely disregard till im writing in the final answer. If you have a cross for IAIA and a IBIB in the all of the children will be IAIB which makes them AB blood type, however if a parent were to have an IAi and another having IBi would mean that they are recessive for the O bloodtype and that there is a 25% chance they will have a baby like that. And yes your alleles must be ii in order to be type O blood anything other with type O would be considered a hybrid blood type Ex: IBi and IAi. hope this helps if u have any questions comment here again and i'll check from time to time hope this helped :).
