Muddiest Point 11/5

One of my muddiest points is the difference haploid and diploid. I am confused with the 2N and N stuff. Another muddiest point are the pedigrees. I don't really know how to read them or decide the genotypes, or whatever you have to do them. Is there an easier way to understand them?

  1. To understand diploid and haploid, n symbolizes 23 chromosomes. n=23. haploid=23 chromosomes(n) and diploid=46 chromosomes(2n).

For Pedigrees you have to compare percentages of offspring. You take the parents of the one person you want to determine in a pedigree and you see the percentages or chance of offspring. Then you take the offspring and other parent to determine what that particular person is. Sounds confusing, hard to say it but with practice you can get it.
