Im confused about chromosomes and chromatids, are they the same thing?

  1. A chromosome is a threadlike structure containing the cells DNA. A chromatid is the one of two duplicated parts of a chromosome. Hope that helped.

  2. When a cell divides, the cell condenses which turns into chromosomes which are threadlike structure which contains the genetic information which is passed from one part of cells to another. Chromatin is the spagetti like material visible inside of the nucleus.
