My muddiest point is during mitosis, when is the nucleus visible and when is it not. Also, when is the nuclear membrane visible and when is it not. I am confused on why it disappears and then reappears.
The nucleus and the Nuclear Membrane are visible during interphase and very late telophase they disappear to let the chromatin inside of the nucleus out into the cell and the process of mitosis begins from there.
The nuclear membrane and nucleoulus DISAPPEAR during prophase... this is why prophase takes so long because there is a lot that needs to happen during this phase. Chromosomes condense from chromatid to coiled/visible chromosome during prophase too.
In terms of WHY it happens... eh... not quite sure i have a good answer for that... would have to think about it!
