My Muddiest Point

Cells are very confusing for me because there are so many different parts to it. I think one of my muddiest points is sister cells and daughter cells. What do they do or what are they? Also, what is the difference between chromatin and chromosomes? Overall, I think cells are very confusing. Please help me!

Thanks,
Jessie W.

  1. I'm only able to answer the second part of your question. The difference between chromatin and chromosomes is....
Chromatin are unwound DNA found in the nucleus. The way I picture chromatin is as a ball of hair.
Chromosomes are neat "packages" of DNA ONLY FOUND DURING MITOSIS!! The best way that I can describe what a chromosome looks like is a butterfly. If you want to see a picture of what chromosomes look like, then flip to page 280 in your textbook. The picture at the top shows you what a chromosome looks like and its caption briefly explains it.
I hope this helps you out and doesn't confuse you even more!
